Kites, Kites and more Kites

We enjoyed a beautiful Sunday afternoon up on Beech Mtn at their annual Kite Festival.  Each kid under the age of 12 got a free kite. In which they could decorate and color however they wanted.

Ollie was so excited, Daddy could barely color on an O for Ollie before he pulled it off the table.

Lots of wind equaled lots of kite flying

Ollie loved it!

Lots of kites flying. This festival was pretty cool and the weather couldn't have been nicer.

Relaxing and watching all the kites with Daddy

John David and Ollie sharing a cold drink on a hot afternoon. These two are so silly when they get together.

1st Day of School...round 2

Ollie started his second year of preschool this morning and he couldn't have been happier.

Last year he never, not once, wanted to wear his backpack and this morning he couldn't get it on fast enough. Then once we were at school, it wasn't a clinging hug goodbye with no end in sight.  It was a short, sweet "see ya later mom."  Ouch!  Just another painful reminder of how fast my kiddo is growing up.

Anyways, he had a great first day back at school and we're looking forward to a fun year.
