Grandfather Mountain Dollar Days

Every April Grandfather Mountain has dollar days for the local residents. It's kind of a celebration for the spring season and upcoming tourist season. We met up with some of our friends and took part in the junior ranger program that afternoon.

We learned all about eagles, most importantly their eyes.

Once the ranger explained to us all the interesting eagle facts, she took us to go see the eagle sanctuary.  She also took us on a tour of all the other animals that live in the Grandfather Mountain habitat. We got to see bears, otters, deer and a cougar.

Ollie and his friend, Elle were all about climbing rocks and taking pictures

We drove up to the very top of the mountain so we could go across the mile high bridge.
